AmericanaFest Without the Uber Tab

AmericanaFest 2026 runs September 15–19, and if you’re staying at The Eighteen, you’re already inside the wristband geography.

This is the largest Americana music gathering in the world: 300+ showcases across Nashville, with the Honors & Awards at the Ryman on Tuesday night. The festival sells conference passes and wristbands. Wristbands get you into showcases at participating venues. The Eighteen sits between two of them.

Walking-distance wristband venues

The Basement East (0.5 miles from The Eighteen) hosts official showcases Wednesday through Saturday night. Past years have featured Shakey Graves, Houndmouth, Wynonna Judd, Lilly Hiatt, Parker Millsap, and multi-artist lineups starting early afternoon and running past midnight.

The 5 Spot (0.7 miles from The Eighteen, 10-minute walk) runs showcases throughout the week. It’s a smaller room than The Beast, which means it fills fast during fest week, but it’s also the kind of venue where you catch an artist before they move to theaters.

Both venues are on foot. No rideshare surge pricing, no parking hunt, no logistics. You walk to the showcase, stay as long as you want, walk home. That’s the value of staying in Five Points during fest week.

Tuesday farmers market into evening showcases

The East Nashville Farmers Market runs Tuesdays 3:30–6:30 PM at 511 Woodland Street (5th & Woodland), through late October.

AmericanaFest Tuesday (September 16) is Honors & Awards night at the Ryman. The farmers market runs that afternoon, a half-mile from The Eighteen. Pick up dinner provisions, walk home, then head downtown for the ceremony.

If you’re doing the full wristband week, Tuesday afternoon at the market is a reset between conference panels and showcase nights. It’s also the most East Nashville thing you can do during a festival that otherwise pulls everyone downtown.

The rest of the fest week schedule

• Monday, Sep 15: AmericanaFest officially kicks off. Opening night showcases citywide.
• Tuesday, Sep 16: Americana Honors & Awards at the Ryman, 7 PM. This is the big night—broadcast, red carpet, performances. Separate ticketed event.
• Wednesday–Friday, Sep 17–19: Peak showcase nights. The Basement East and The 5 Spot both run multi-artist lineups. Wristbands required.
• Saturday, Sep 20: Festival wraps, but some venues continue with unofficial after-parties.

Check the official AmericanaFest lineup for specific artists and set times. Schedules are released closer to the event.

What makes this different from staying downtown

Most AmericanaFest attendees stay downtown near the Ryman and the conference hotels. That makes sense if you’re attending panels all day. But if you’re here for the showcases, staying in East Nashville means you’re in the neighborhood where the wristband venues actually are.

The Basement East is the anchor. It’s a 500-cap room that books artists like Ben Harper, Mt. Joy, and Shakey Graves on normal nights. During AmericanaFest, it’s an official venue, which means the lineup is curated by the festival and covered by your wristband.

The 5 Spot is smaller—150-cap—but it’s been part of the East Nashville music scene since before the neighborhood was a destination. During fest week, it’s where you see four artists in one night without planning.

Both are walkable from The Eighteen. That’s the entire pitch.

Logistics for a wristband week

• Buy your wristband early. They sell out. AmericanaFest registration opens months in advance.
• Plan around The Beast and The 5 Spot. If you’re staying here, those are your home venues for the week.
• Farmers market Tuesday afternoon. 511 Woodland, 3:30–6:30 PM. Bring a tote bag.
• Parking stays in the lot. You’re on foot all week. That’s the advantage.
• Honors night is ticketed separately. Wristbands do not get you into the Ryman ceremony.

If you’re staying at The Eighteen during AmericanaFest, you’re staying in the right neighborhood. The festival comes to you.
