You have two days and zero interest in waiting in line for a photo with a neon guitar. Good. Here’s the weekend, built from the corner of McFerrin and Main.
Morning. Coffee first. Frothy Monkey does the all-day café thing properly, or wander Fatherland Street’s shops while the neighborhood wakes up. If you’ve got a dog with you (we’re pet friendly, bring the dog), Shelby Park’s riverside Greenway is the morning move.
Afternoon. Record shopping and browsing in the Five Points triangle, then a slow lunch at The Pharmacy: scratch burgers, house-made sodas, and a beer garden that fills with exactly the right kind of chaos by 2pm.
Evening. Dinner at Lockeland Table if you booked ahead (book ahead), then the main event: The 5 Spot, the neighborhood’s beloved live-music room, is a three-minute walk. Whatever’s playing, go.
Late. Five Points Pizza is open late for a reason. Get the square slice. Walk home in ten minutes.
Morning. Sleep in. Checkout’s not until 11, and if you’re staying another night, the rooftop deck with downtown views is where coffee happens.
Afternoon. Cross the pedestrian bridge to Nissan Stadium territory if it’s game day, or keep it east side: The Bookshop for a parting gift, brunch wherever the line is shortest (it moves fast everywhere here).
The whole weekend, you parked your car exactly once, in The Eighteen’s lot, and never thought about it again. That’s the east side advantage.
