Nissan Stadium: The Farewell Season, and the New Stadium Rising Next Door
Dated event guide. This guide covers dates through January 3, 2027. Details are retained for reference; consult the official organizer for current schedules and tickets. No future edition is implied.
Nissan Stadium sits on the east bank of the Cumberland, which means it sits on our side of the river. From The Eighteen it’s a straight shot, and on event days that is worth more than any amenity we could list.
It is also the building’s last season. Every Titans listing on the official calendar calls 2026 the Farewell Season of the current stadium, and its replacement is going up directly across from it. What’s left is football, a bowl game, and one morning to stand on the field before it goes.
Titans home games · the farewell season
This is a dated calendar and keeps past games as a record. Every remaining Titans home game is listed with a noon CT kickoff, gates at 10 AM and parking lots open at 8 AM. Confirm the date, time and gate on the official stadium calendar before you plan around one.
September 13: Jets vs Titans, the regular season home opener (past date)
September 20: Eagles vs Titans (past date)
September 26: Titans Foundation 5K (past date; community run on the stadium grounds; confirm registration and course with the Titans Foundation)
October 11: Texans vs Titans (past date)
October 25: Browns vs Titans. Day two of the TN Hot Sauce Expo at East Park, on the same side of the river.
November 15: Jaguars vs Titans
December 6: Commanders vs Titans
December 20: Colts vs Titans
January 3, 2027: Steelers vs Titans. Now on the stadium’s published calendar, and the last Titans home game it lists for this building.
Everything else on the east bank
The college slate is the locals’ secret: cheaper tickets, easier crowds, same short walk. Tennessee State plays its home games here.
Sunday, September 6, 2026: Music City Kickoff: Ole Miss vs Louisville (past date)
October 10: UT Martin vs Tennessee State (past date)
October 17: Morgan State vs Tennessee State, TSU’s homecoming (past date)
October 24: Charleston Southern vs Tennessee State, the Saturday of the hot sauce weekend
November 7: SEMO vs Tennessee State
November 14: Eastern Illinois vs Tennessee State
The stadium now lists a 2:30 PM CT kickoff for each of the three remaining TSU games, with gates at 1 PM.
October 27: Titans, Tito’s & Tails Dog Day, the fifth annual one, in the stadium’s South Plaza from 5 PM. Proceeds go to local animal nonprofits. Bring the dog; that is the point.
November 21: Farewell Season Photos. Fifteen-minute professional photo sessions on the field, booked in slots between 9 AM and 1 PM, with all proceeds going to the Titans Foundation. The stadium bills it as the last time you can step onto this field. Book a session.
December 30: The Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl, on ESPN. Kickoff is listed for 2 PM CT. Teams and tickets are not announced yet; the bowl’s listing will have them first.
Concerts are done for this building. Foo Fighters on August 15 was its last music event.
The new stadium, and who opens it
The new Nissan Stadium is a $2.2 billion, 2.1-million-square-foot enclosed building, scheduled for completion in February 2027. The stadium says its seats sit 38 percent closer to the field than in the current bowl, and the translucent roof ends the rain plans.
The 2027 calendar is filling in. The earliest concert on it so far is Zach Bryan, who brings his Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs Tour on Saturday, May 22, 2027, with John Fogerty and Fey Fili. Public tickets go on sale Friday, October 23, 2026 at 10 AM CT; the stadium’s listing has the details.
Kenny Chesney brings the Original Vibe Room Tour there on Saturday, July 3, 2027, with Eric Church, Sheryl Crow and Greylan James, and a listed start of 4:30 PM CT. He played the current stadium six times, more than any other artist. CMA Fest, June 10-13, 2027, will finish each of its four nights there. And on Saturday, September 25, 2027, the BBCL Banana Bowl Championship Game brings Savannah Bananas-style baseball to the building. Its ticket lottery list closes October 31, 2026.
Then in 2030 the building hosts Super Bowl LXIV, the first Super Bowl in Nashville. Same riverbank, same walk. The new one just has a roof.
How to do a stadium day from The Eighteen
Don’t drive. Stadium-day traffic on the east bank is a bottleneck and lot prices spike. If Kasa has confirmed your parking arrangements, you can leave the car at the property and plan a walking or rideshare route to your event gate. Allow for closures and crowds.
Mind the early clock. For noon kickoffs the lots open at 8 and the gates at 10, so the streets around the stadium fill in the morning, not at lunch.
Walk the pedestrian bridge. The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge connects the stadium side to downtown, so you can arrive on foot and cross over afterward if you want Broadway. Most people go the other way: game, then back to the east side.
Eat before, on this side. Stadium concessions are stadium concessions. Butcher & Bee or The Pharmacy beforehand beats anything on the concourse.
Plan the after. Post-game downtown is gridlock. Attaboy is next door to the building, and Five Points Pizza runs late. The whole night ends on foot.
Book early for football weekends. Home games fill East Nashville lodging faster than anything except festival weeks, and this is the last season anyone gets to see this building. Check Kasa for availability at the eleven-unit aparthotel.
Why it matters that we’re on this side
Staying on the east side gives you another way to plan a stadium day. Check your route, event-gate access and any parking arrangements in advance; travel times depend on crowds and closures.
